MANSEHRA: Two tourists killed

MANSEHRA, June 16: Two tourists were killed and seven others were injured when their jeep plunged into a ravine at Narain, some 150km northeast of Mansehra, on Saturday.

Police said the jeep carrying 10 members of a family was going from Narain to the Saiful Malook lake.

The driver lost control while negotiating a sharp turn near the lake and the jeep fell into the ravine. Shahid Naveed and Hammed Basher died on the spot.

The injured were identified as Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Hammed, Mohammad Aslam, Asghar Ali, Asmat Ali, Mohammad Idrees and driver Taj Afzal. The victims belong to Shaikhupura (Punjab).

Police, with the help of locals, retrieved the bodies and injured and shifted them to the Balakot civil hospital.
