Talks on IPO issue

ISLAMABAD, Jun 16: Ms. Rodica Parvu, Director-General of the Romanian Copyright Office, has expressed interest to establish contact with her counterpart in the Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan (IPO) in order to mutually benefit each other’s experiences.

According to a message received here from Romania, Mrs. Parvu met Ambassador of Pakistan to Romania Mr. Sanaullah when she was presented a copy of IPO Pakistan Review-2005.

She was also informed how copyrights were being respected in accordance with domestic law of Pakistan as well as WIPO guidelines.

The Director-General of the Romanian Copyright Office was highly impressed by the organisational structure of IPO.

She promised to come back with some specific areas where Romania and Pakistan could start collaboration in order to ensure compliance of copyright of works of literature, art and industrial patents etc.—APP
