Yasir stuns top-ranked Mansoor

ISLAMABAD, June 15: Qualifier Yasir Butt beat top-ranked Mansoor Zaman in one of the three matches on the opening day of the Pakistan Squash League at the Mushaf Squash Complex on Friday.

The League features six players – four of them were taken directly due to their international rankings while the remaining two advanced through qualifying round. They were: Yasir Butt and Farzan Rashid.

Yasir conquered the battle in 26 minutes with 11-10 (3-1), 11-3, 11-9 score.

In another match, Aamir Atlas was leading 11-7, 11-10 (2-0) against Farzan Rasheed before the latter retired from the match after just 18 minutes.

Shahid Zaman defeated Farhan Mehboob 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 11-10 (7-5) in 32 minutes.

The winner of the tournament will get Rs60,000 whereas the runner-up pocket Rs50,000.

Every match winner will get Rs5,000.—APP
