KARACHI, June 12: DCO Javed Hanif has said that flats will be provided to all employees and officials working in the city government.

Addressing a meeting of the officials concerned held in connection with the housing scheme for city government employees, he said a committee of EDOs Revenue/Finance, IT and Works and Services would prepare a detailed feasibility report in this regard. The DO Housing would be the secretary of the committee, which would keep in view all legal aspects as well as identification of sites and flats while preparing the feasibility report.

He said a comprehensive policy to be chalked out in this regard would incorporate the issues of construction of flats, plans, categories of employees, procedure for allotment, estimate cost and procedure for recovery of cost of flat in instalments.

The DCO directed the committee to submit its report by July 3 so that it could be finalised in the next meeting and talks could be initiated with the ABAD. He said that preference should be given to city government’s land while identifying the sites for construction of flats.—APP
