Fire in multi-storey building

TOBA TEK SINGH, June 9: Shopping bags and other goods worth more than Rs600,000 were reduced to ashes in a fire in a three storey building on Saturday at Kamalia.

The fire broke out in the afternoon in the building situated at Chandiwala locality near Saddar.

Kamalia TMA fire brigade controlled the fire after three hours’ struggle.

The cause of fire could not be known.

LAWYERS’ STRIKE: Hunger strike camp by the lawyers continued in the district bar room on Saturday against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Punjab Bar Council former member Mian Masood Ahmad Shahid and Mian Muhammad Rafiq observed hunger strike.

The protesters wore black armbands and hoisted black flag atop bar room.
