Man killed in grenade attack

VEHARI, June 7: A man was killed while four members of his family sustained serious injuries when two hand grenades were exploded in a drea (out-house) of a landlord at Mauza Khichi, Luddan, on Wednesday night. Allah Yar Khichi and his family were sleeping in the dera when his rivals identified as Saeed Khichi and his six accomplices threw two grenades. Pervez alias Mehdi, nephew of Allah Yar, was killed on the spot while Allah Yar, his son Tahir, Arshad and Hamid Raza suffered serious injuries. They were admitted to the DHQ hospital.

Luddan police have registered a case and are investigating.

Pervez was buried in Mauza Khichi graveyard on Thursday evening.

Police said the incident was the outcome of an enmity started in 1992. At least five people from both the families had been killed during the last 15 years.
