KARACHI, June 6: Judicial Magistrate Ihsan A. Malik remanded a man facing charges of possessing hashish and illegal weapons to police custody for three days and ordered his production before the court on June 9.

Sharea Faisal police claimed that Syed Muddasir Hussain Shah Al-Hussaini was arrested with one kilogram hashish and an unlicensed rifle. The police said that he was a gangster suspecting his involvement in many other criminal cases. He was brought to the court with his face covered.

However, the suspect’s father Peer Nizam Hussain Shah said that his son was being implicated in the case as he had given shelter to the lawyers on May 12 in Pehalwan Goth. He said, “My son is a worker of Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) and the police were victimising him for his support to the lawyers.”
