PARACHINAR, June 5: A huge fire gutted a restaurant and some arms shops in the Tari Mingal area, near the Pak-Afghan border in the Kurram tribal region on Monday night, residents said.

They said the fire broke out in a restaurant in the Tari Mingal bazaar, which later engulfed some arms shops in the market. Armaments, including rocket launchers and rockets, exploded, rocking the entire border town. However, no casualty was reported.

Political authorities dispatched a fire engine from Parachinar, the regional headquarters, which managed to extinguish the fire.

The administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
