KARACHI, June 5: Sindh Local Government Minister Mohammad Hussain has directed the KWSB to provide 50 water tankers to residents of Surjani Town — 30 of them to cattle owners — on a regular basis.

Chairing a meeting regarding the problems of Surjani Town, the minister observed that there was an acute shortage of potable water in many areas.

He directed KWSB chief engineer to ensure provision of water by alternative means to residents who were unable to get water due to the repair of lines, load-shedding or other reasons.

He called for the preparation of PC-I for a separate water line for Surjani from the Hub Reservoir.

He hoped that after the handing over of the hydrants by the Rangers to the towns on June 15, the water supply situation would improve.—APP
