KASUR, June 4: Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool has said that the government will transform the Pattoki university of veterinary sciences into a centre of excellence for exporting livestock, fisheries, and dairy products after meeting local demand.
He was talking to media men at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of a training and research centre for fisheries and hatcheries on Monday at Pattoki university, Bhonaykey.
The governor also recommended revision in pay scales of veterinary assistants from six to 11.
It was interesting to note that none of the political figures, including Federal Minister Asif Nakai, internal affairs committee chairman Talib Hussain Nakai, the three ruling party MPAs, the district nazim and Chunian tehsil nazim, were present to welcome and attend meeting of the governor.
Prominent among the participants were vice-chancellor Dr Nawaz Ahmed, Dr Abdullaha, besides the teaching faculty and representatives of the district administration. — Correspondent
