KOHAT, June 3: The Kohat chapter of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) has proposed names of six women for one national and three provincial assembly seats in the next elections.

The district Shura meeting presided over by JUI-F district president Maulana Abdul Hayee also proposed the name of Aslam Pervez for the minority seat. The decision was seconded by party’s district secretary-general Jamil Ahmed.

The names of women proposed are: Azra Yasmeen, Fauzia Anjum and Ms Saima for the National Assembly, and Aliya Shah, Lubna Bokhari, Nijla Matiullah for the provincial assembly. Azra Yasmeen has been nominated for both national and provincial seats.

Earlier, the meeting announced that Maulana Abdul Hayee would be their candidate for the national assembly seat. All nominations are subject to approval by the Majlis-i-Shura of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.
