Nasir excels

HYDERABAD, May 30: Off-spinner Nasir Awais with his five-wicket haul helped Hyderabad beat Thatta by 38 runs in a last round match of the Hyderabad Region Inter-district cricket championship on Wednesday.

Hyderabad, batting first, managed to score 238 courtesy of fine 80 not out by Javed Khan and 55 by Akram Awan.

In reply, Thatta scored 200 for loss of nine wickets. Nasir claimed the five wickets for 26 runs while Hyderabad skipper Faisal Athar took three for 25.

Hyderabad have qualified for the final of the championship with the win.
