AFC Cup rescheduled for Sept

LAHORE, May 30: The 3rd AFC President's Football Cup, which was earlier postponed, has been rescheduled for September in Pakistan.

This was stated by a spokesman of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) while quoting president Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, who is in Zurich attending the FIFA Congress.

Faisal, said he discussed with AFC President Mohamed bin Hammam, who confirmed that the eight-club event (AFC Cup) would be held in Pakistan in September.

The competition was to be held in Lahore from May 17 to 27. But a delay in issuance of visas to three top national clubs of Tajkistan, Kyrgyzstan and Bhutan, forced AFC to postpone the event.

The PFF had suffered a loss of about $1 million due to the postponement.
