KARACHI, May 30: Nine ships carrying containers, chemicals, DAP fertiliser and to load molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a dozen vessels which included three cement loaders and Pacific Arrow, Andria and Valgella, two with DAP fertiliser and Captain Markus to load rice were berthed.

Sailing was also active as eight ships, Le Jin, Corin Thaikos, Iran Tabatbaei, Spring Hummer, Iron Butterfly, Red Sea Spirit, Oriental Rose and MOL Ability departed on Wednesday.

Six other, APL Shenzhen, Al-Abdullah, Kuo Lung, Grotke Oldendorrf, Pacific Arrow and Golden Lion are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 57,632 tons comprising 12,128 tons of export cargo including 5,255 tons of cement and 45,594 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Lalazar with crude oil, Chemstar Brave with chemicals, Golden Lucy to load molasses, Kota Gnteng, Oel Victory, Soon Fu and Mol Silver Fern with containers, Adreni with DAP fertiliser and Oceanic Pescardores with general cargo.
