KARACHI, May 29: The United Staff Organisation (CBA), Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation on Tuesday demanded a 35 per cent increase in salary and other allowances in the next budget.

The organisation in a meeting held with General Secretary Ansarul Haque in the chair expressed its concern over the soaring prices of daily use commodities stating that prices of daily use items were increased from 60 to 100 per cent during the current year as compared to the last year.

It stated that after seven years the employees should move to next high scale if not promoted and added that the deduction of 5 per cent on account of house requisitioned facilities from the employees’ salaries be withdrawn.

The organisation also demanded regularisation of all the employees on contract basis and proposed that radio fee of Rs5 per month be levied on mobile phone in line with PTV licence fee levied on power consumers.
