MIRPURKHAS, May 28: Counsel for former DIG Rana Saleemullah Khan has blamed the Sindh government of finding a unique way to torture his client by transferring the superintendent, Mirpurkhas jail and posting a prison officer known for torture.

Salahuddin Panhwar, counsel for the former DIG talking to journalists said the Sindh government was hatching conspiracies against his client after Sanghar police failed to get remand of his client.

He demanded cancellation of posting of Younus Masih as Superintendent Mirpurkhas Jail.

The IG Prison, Sindh transferred superintendent district jail Mirpurkhas, Ziaur Rehman Bajwa to Sukkur on Monday.

Talking to Dawn by phone, the IG prison Sindh Mohammad Yamin Khan said the transfer was a routine matter. He said Younus Masih, superintendent district Jail Sanghar had been transferred and posted as superintendent district Jail Mirpurkhas.

PML-N: District coordinator, PML-N Mirpurkhas, comrade Abdul Majeed Rajput paid tributes to Mian Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan a nuclear state during his tenure as prime minister.

Speaking at a gathering of Youm-e-Takbeer at Market chowk on Monday, he said Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was a Pakistani hero who made Paksitan first Islamic country to possess atomic power.

He demanded of the government to release the Dr Qadeer Khan and provide him complete medical facilities.

Zahid Kaimkhani deplored the present government for holding Dr Khan.

Others who spoke were Shaheen Saeed Arain, Choudhry Shahzad, Ahmed, Zafar Shah, Zulfiqar Bhatti, Murad Baloch, Aleem Khan and Abdul Ghani.
