SAHIWAL, May 26: Residents of Chak 89/6-R staged a protest demonstration at Katchery on Saturday against what they said custodial killing of a youth. Reports said Farid Town police on Friday night arrested Ghulam Mustafa on suspicion of his involvement in a dacoity and allegedly tortured him as a result of which he fell unconscious. The police handed him over to union council nazim Asif Mahmood who shifted him to the DHQ hospital where he died the same night.

On Saturday, relatives of Ghulam Mustafa along with villagers took the body to Katchery and staged a demonstration outside the court of the district and sessions judge.

The court ordered a postmortem. A medical board has sent samples to the respective lab for chemical analysis.

ACCIDENT: A man and his sister were killed on Friday night in a road accident near Chak Khan Kamal.

Reports said Allah Yar along with his widow sister Jannat Bibi was going from his village 66/4-R to Noorshah by a motorcycle (SLN-3566). The bike struck against a tractor-trolley. Both died in Noorshah hospital.
