PESHAWAR, May 24: The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has severed power supply to nine more government departments after their failure to pay dues in time, according to a press release.

The move was part of a campaign launched by Pesco in April to recover arrears from all government departments. During the ongoing campaign, the utility has succeeded in recovering Rs1 million besides cutting power supply to defaulting departments.

In the latest measure, Pesco has disconnected supply to nine government departments in the Bannu area after they failed to pay Rs1672728 in arrears.

The names of the departments affected by the Pesco move and the outstanding amounts against them are: the SDO, Public Health Engineering, Baderwal (Rs663917); Agriculture Tube-well, Ahmed Wala (Rs329398); the SDO, Public Health Engineering, Shamshaki (Rs561983); The SDO, PTCL Exchange, Karak (Rs90,081); GMS Takki (Rs5162); GMS Gul Banda (Rs6992); GMS Latamber (Rs4353); GMS Ahmad Wala (Rs3268); and Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Darshi Khel (Rs7574).—APP
