MITHI May 23: The government has undertaken many development projects in Thar but hospitals face shortage of specialists, particularly female medical practitioners for which government will be moved, shortly.

This was said by adviser to Sindh chief minister for minority affairs Kishanchand Parwani at the inaugural ceremony of a blood bank established by the Tharparkar Social Organisation (TSO), at the Civil Hospital on Tuesday.

He said that the TSO, headed by Mama Vishan had been providing free blood and medicines to poor patients through its volunteers. Parwani also distributed certificates among those who donate blood to patients at the call of TSO.

He announced donation of Rs100,000 to the TSO, and Rs100,000 for the welfare of minority people.

District Nazim Tharparkar, Arbab Anwar said serving humanity was the best worship which the TSO was doing. He said the TSO should expand its network up to union council level i.e., in far-flung areas of the district to help ailing Tharis. It should also create awareness among the masses to donate blood.

Arbab Anwar also announced donation of Rs25,000 to the TSO. He said worth regretting was the reality that those doctors who hold domicile of Tharparkar were reluctant to work here. “The provincial government would be moved to fill in the posts of doctors", Nazim asserted.

The DCO Asadullah Dharejo said in the past, specialists did not like to serve here as hospitals lacked modern equipments. Now, latest gadgets and machinery had been provided and the health department being moved to provide specialists and lady doctors. The MPA, Abdur Razzaq said that an individual or an institution of honest repute can do a lot of noble work.
