LAHORE, May 23: The city police chief has told his subordinates to take action against those caught doing wheelie and constitute special teams for this purpose. Capital City Police Officer Malik Muhammad Iqbal, in a circular to the senior superintendent of police (operations), the chief traffic officer and the SP (mujahid) on Wednesday, said he would monitor action against wheelie doers.

He said many had died while doing bike stunts on roads as flocks of motorcyclists played havoc on Jail Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Liberty Market and along Lahore Canal on weekdays.

He expressed his sorrow over the tragic demise of two boys in Harbanspura who died due to bike stunts. The CCPO said it was need of the hour to take effective measures to prevent wheelie in the city. — Staff Reporter
