TOBA TEK SINGH, May 23: The owner and principal of a private school was tortured and forced to sit on a donkey for the `sin’ committed by his son at Chak 405-JB on Wednesday.

Police said that Saba Zulfikar, the student of matric, had contracted court marriage with her principal Nazir Ahmed’s son Aqeelur Rehman without the consent of her parents. On Wednesday, five girl’s relatives — Zahid, Rehman, Noor Muhammad, Shahzad and Arshad — overpowered the principal when he was on way to his school. Later, the accused took the principal to the village, tortured him, made him to sit on the donkey and then paraded him on the streets.

Chuttiana police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 355, 340, 427 and 440 PPC.

HUNGER CAMP: The local district bar association continued the hunger strike camp on Wednesday.

Former DBA secretary-general Zafar Muhammad Chaudhry and Mian Muhammad Rafiq observed the hunger strike. Besides hoisting black flag atop the bar room, lawyers also wore black armbands to lodge their protest against the suspension of the chief justice of Pakistan.

CASE: Pirmahal police on Wednesday registered a case against three accused, including a woman, for kidnapping a girl at Chak 741-GB.

Complainant Zulfiqar told police that accused Bashir, Haq Nawaz and Shahnaz Bibi had come to his house in his absence and kidnapped his daughter in a car.
