GUJAR KHAN, May 23: The Mandra police are on the lookout for an accused for assaulting a minor girl and later firing at her house in the Kalial village. Asad Khalil, a serving armed forces official, reported to the Mandra police that his four-and-half-year-old daughter, ‘M’ was sexually assaulted by Adnan alias Dani, 16, in an under- construction house in the village two days ago.

According to the complainant, some relatives of the accused were also involved in the planned assault as when they were informed of the incident, they attacked his family and later resorted to firing in front of their house. They also warned them against reporting the matter to the police.

However, after the incident was brought to the attention of the Mandra police, on May 20, the victim was examined medically at the rural health centre in Mandra. The lady medical officer noted that the minor girl had received injuries during the sodomy assault, while the report of the chemical examiner was still awaited.

The police have registered the case under sections 337, H-2, 376 and 109 PPC. The investigation officer, Syed Makhdoom Hussain Shah, said the accused was on the run and could not be apprehended during the police raids.— Correspondent
