ISLAMABAD, May 21: Federal Public Services Commission (FPSC) has announced the number of vacancies, including carried over vacancies, to be filled on the basis of the final results of the competitive examination-2006, and according to the government policy on provincial/regional quota.

According to which 15 seats (7.5 per cent) will be filled on merit basis. Punjab has been allocated 100 seats (50 per cent), Sindh (rural) 30 seats (11.4 per cent), Sindh (urban) 23 seats (11.5 per cent), Balochistan 13 seats (6 per cent), Northern Areas and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) 8 seats each (4 per cent) and Azad Kashmir 8 seats (2 per cent).

Allocation against 10 per cent reserved quota for female candidates will be made from the left-over vacancies against the share of their province/region, except merit quota.

In case qualified female candidates are not available, the unfilled vacancies will be carried forward.

Distribution of vacancies has been made keeping in view the plus/minus fraction of the last year’s examination and carried over vacancies have been added in the respective groups of the concerned provinces/regions.

The service/group-wise distribution of the vacancies has also been announced. District Management Group (DMG) has 35 seats, Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) 15 seats while Foreign Service of Pakistan has 12 seats.

Allocation of candidates to one or the other service/occupational group will be made keeping in view the suitability of the candidates as determined by the Commission, the merit position, preference of the candidates and the quota of provinces/regions as set out in the rules for the examination.

Appointment: Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has recommended names of 11 candidates for appointment in grade 16 and 17 in different government departments.

According to an FPSC press note, the Commission has recommended Muhammad Ali for appointment in Ministry of Religious Affairs as Research Officer in BPS-17.

The Commission has also recommended names of four candidates for appointment against the posts of Lady Medical Officers (BPS-17) in the Northern Areas, Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas division.

These candidates are; Miss Saima Amber, Ms Sarbissa Hamza, Mrs Nargis Bibi and Miss Quratul Ain.

The commission has also recommended the name of Miss Afsheen Atta for appointment against the post of lady doctor (CMB) in BPS-17 in Pakistan Navy, Ministry of Defence.

Another candidate, Syed Waseem Hussain Bukhari has been recommended for appointment against the post of library officer (BPS-16) in Ministry of Defence.

For the appointment against the posts of director physical education (male) in FG colleges for men under the Directorate of Education in BPS-17, the Commission has recommended the names of Mumtazul Haq and Muhammad Tahir Alias Shahid.

The Commission has also recommended names of two candidates Miss Lubna Younas and Miss Sadia Tasnim for appointment against the posts of assistant director physical education (female) in BPS-16 at IMCGs working under the Federal Directorate of Education, Ministry of Education.—APP
