26 quit MQM in Sindh

DADU, May 21: Two leaders and 20 members of the Radhan chapter of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement have resigned from the party and joined People’s Party Parliamentarians as a reaction to May 20 Karachi violence.

Unit In-charge, MQM, Radhan town, Imamuddin, and local party leader Abdullah announced this at Radhan Press Club on Monday. Mehar PPP leader Mehrab Lakhiar welcomed them in the party.

Our Khairpur correspondent adds: The unit in-charge, MQM, Hadal Shah union council, Kingri talukas, Obhayo Ghumro, and three party activists have quit the party and joined the PPP.

Mr Ghumro and the activists Mohammad Bux Abbasi, Abdul Razzaq and Amanullah announced this at a ceremony held at the residence of Kingri taluka PPP president Zaman Shah Rashidi in Pir-jo-Goth on Sunday evening.

Mr Ghumro and others said that the May 12 bloodshed had prompted them to quit the MQM.
