KARACHI, May 21: After a delay of one week owing to the serious law and order situation in the city, the SSC-I (Class IX) annual examinations will begin on Tuesday (today), when over 103,000 students of SSC-I (science group) will throng over 400 examination centres across the city.

Some 40,000 students of SSC-I (general group) — both regular and private — would take their English paper on Wednesday, according to officials of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi.

These examinations were originally scheduled for May 15 but the date was extended for a week due to the tense situation in the city in the aftermath of the May 12 killings.

According to the new schedule of SSC-I (science group), the other papers for SSC-I (science group) would be held as follows: Pakistan Studies (May 25), Chemistry (May 28), Sindhi (May 30), Biology (June 1) and Computer Science (June 4).
