KARACHI, May 18: A week-long exhibition has been organised at the National Museum of Pakistan to mark the International Museum Day, which is observed on May 18 across the world.

This was stated by the Director, National Museum of Pakistan, Karachi, Makin Khan. He pointed out that this year the International Museum Day is being observed as the Universal Heritage Day of museums as well.

The artefacts on display range from ancient two million year old objects down to 19th century relics. Some of the artefacts are a two million year old hand-axe, the famous ‘king priest’ from Moenjodaro; a Buddha head; manuscripts of the Holy Quran; miniature paintings from the 16th century; the Shah Nama of Firdousi; and pieces depicting the culture of Pakistan.

The exhibition will remain open from 10am to 5pm.—APP
