KARACHI, May 16: Three ships to load and offload containers and diesel oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday. Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Ten vessels, Maersk Dhaka, Gothern Burn Express, Nedlloyd Europa, Addu Star, Sargodha, Afamia, Inegrity-1, Sita Maria, Warbah and New Leader, were busy in loading and unloading containers, wheat, rice, cement, edible oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

A record cargo volume of 0.123 million tons comprising 0.093 million tons of import and 0.031 million tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Maersk Dhaka and Sita Maria left the port while Nedlloyd Europa, Gothern Burn Express were due to depart.
