Woman gang-raped by dacoits

KASUR, May 15: Dacoits gang-raped a married woman at gunpoint at Dhing Shah, Khudian here on Tuesday and made off with cash and valuables.

Reports said six dacoits barged into the house of one Muhammad Ibrahim, and demanded Rs150,000, which they pointed out, were lying in the house. The inmates denied presence of any money in the house on which the dacoits got infuriated and two of them took Ibrahim’s wife to another room and raped her. The accused also took away cash and valuables.

Khudian police are investigating.

Meanwhile, hundreds of shopkeepers blocked Multan Road in protest against the rising lawlessness and observed shutterdown.

Reports said four armed dacoits entered a cell phone shop of Mian Irfan on Allama Iqbal Road on Tuesday. The dacoits deprived the owner of his cell phones, calling cards and other valuables worth Rs0.4 million. The accused also snatched cash and cell phones from some customers, including a councillor. The dacoits shot at and injured the shopkeeper on offering resistance.

A motorcyclist was also run over by their car when they were escaping.
