LAHORE, May 15: The Sheikhupura police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested drug peddler, who is a member of an inter-provincial gang, and recovered 156kg hashish from his possession.

According to a spokesman of the Punjab police, the Sheikhupura DPO received information that some people were carrying contraband by a truck (LHF-6475) and constituted a police team which encircled the area of Esarki village. As the truck approached the area, the policemen signalled the driver to stop but he accelerated. The police chased and arrested one of them and recovered 156kg hashish.

In Muzaffargarh district, a criminal was killed in an encounter with police while his accomplice was arrested.— APP
