Ex-DIG fears for life

Published May 16, 2007

MIRPURKHAS, May 15: Former DIG police operations Mirpurkhas, Rana Saleemullah Khan on Tuesday said that he was being punished by the government because he was a witness in the Manu Bheel case, which was being handled by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

Speaking to journalists after he was produced before the court, he said that he was innocent and he was caught up in a war between the administration and the judiciary.

He said, besides him, additional registrar of Supreme Court Syed Hamad Amjad Raza, who had been gunned down in Islamabad, was also a witness.

He feared that he might be killed extra judicially.
