KARACHI, May 15: KWSB Vice Chairman MPA Muhammad Moin Khan has said a network of new lines is being laid at a cost of Rs40 million to address sewerage-related issues in Gulberg industrial area.

He stated this during his visit to inspect work of laying water and sewerage pipelines in different areas of Gulberg Town on Tuesday.

Moin Khan said up to 30 per cent work on these projects had already been completed. He said water and sewerage projects in Sohrab Goth were underway with up to 80 per cent work completed. He said a 24-inch-dia and 12,800-running-feet-long water pipelines was being laid down in Sohrab Goth. Besides, 27-inch-diameter sewerage line was being laid down in Karimabad at a cost of Rs30 million, he said adding that this would end sewerage-related issues in Blocks 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 17 and 18 of F.B' Area.

The MPA said water pipelines of 6, 8, 12 and 18-inch-diameter were being installed in industrial area of Gulberg Town and up to 42 percent work was completed. He ordered finishing remaining work within two months. He met with local industrialists and inquired from them about pace of work on these projects. CE Zone-III Qutub Sheikh, Superintendent Engineer, Staff Engineer Owais Malik and other officials were also present.—PPI
