LAHORE, May 10: Some 18 dacoits injured five members of a family on resistance and took away cash and animals from the house in Dhoop Sari village, Manga Mandi, here on Thursday.

The armed men barged into the house of Sharif Lohar and started looting valuables. On resistance, they gave a sound thrashing to Bashiran Bibi, Nagina Bibi, Sharifan, Shakeel and a teenaged boy. They also shot at Nasreen Bibi, and fled after collecting cash, jewellery and a buffalo.

Injured Nasreen, Nagina and Sharifan were taken to Jinnah Hospital.

Three robbers entered the house of Shafi in Kahna and took away Rs100,000 in cash and jewellery.

Three gun-toting men burst into the house of Sohail at New Shah Jamal Town, and fled after looting Rs35,000 and jewellery.

Two motorcyclists deprived Saeed of Rs12,000 and a cell phone in Batapur while as many robbers looted Rs8,000 and a cell phone from Jameel at Cavalry Ground.

Ashfaq was robbed of Rs15,000 and a cell phone in Green Town while Mrs Kamal was deprived of cell phone at the main gate of the General Hospital.

STOLEN: Six motorcycles were stolen from Factory Area, Jauhar Town, Gulberg, Lytton Road, Ghalib Market and Model Town areas.
