ISLAMABAD, May 9: The autopsy conducted on the decomposed body of an African man found in the outskirts of the city on Monday night failed to ascertain the cause of his death, sources at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences said on Wednesday. They said specimen of the body have been sent to the chemical examiner in Lahore to determine if the deceased was poisoned.

But the sources ruled out the possibility that the man was tortured to death, as the autopsy disclosed no internal injuries. Marks of beating found on the body were not such as to cause the death, they added.

Marks of burn wounds on the body, however, have raised the possibility that he could have been killed by electric shocks.

The police are approaching people of African origin in Islamabad to help identify the deceased. Several people visited the hospital but they could not identify him.
