PESHAWAR, May 9: The Capital City Police have arrested 60 criminals, including four proclaimed offenders, and recovered a huge quantity of lethal weapons and narcotics from their possession during an on-going campaign against anti-social elements.

The campaign, launched on the directives of Capital City Police Officer Abdul Majeed Marwat, continued all over the district under the supervision of SSP (Operations) Haji Muhammad Iftikhar Khan. Suspected hideouts of wanted fugitives were raided in the drive.

During the campaign, the Yakka Toot police arrested two proclaimed offenders — Rasheed, son of Khurshid, and Idrees, son of Faqir.

Similarly, Daudzai police arrested Islam Gul, son of Sanobar, and Rahimdad, son of Muhammad Khan.

Arms seized during the campaign included three Kalashnikovs, one rifle, one shot-gun, 10 pistols, 184 cartridges, 5kg of charas, and 5litres of liquor. The police have registered cases against the arrested people under relevant sections of the law.—APP
