RAWALPINDI, May 7: Two persons were shot dead by unidentified attackers in a graveyard in the Sadiqabad police limits on Monday.

The police said two alleged drug addicts — Mohammad Kamran (26) and Mohammad Asghar (35) — were sitting in a graveyard when some persons came there and had a brawl with them. During the fight, they opened fire on the men and escaped.

Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP), New Town, Abdul Razzaq Janjua, when contacted, said Kamran and Asghar were killed in the graveyard situated along Kuri Road in Sadiqabad.

Kamran died on the spot whereas Asghar succumbed to his injuries while he was being shifted to a hospital.

The DSP said both the victims were local residents and their bodies had been handed over to their families after post-mortem. The motive behind the double murder is being investigated, he added.
