LARKANA, May 6: Two people were kidnapped and two others were killed in separate incidents in the district on Sunday.

Reports received here said a primary school supervisor Ghulam Sarwar Memon was killed when he put up resistance to some people who robbed his motorcycle near Otha village in the Baqapur police station’s area.

Police who went after the robbers and picked up 12 persons including women in the Mullan Abra village after conducting a siege and search operation, claiming they had aided the criminals.

In another incident, one Sakina, wife of Jani Umrani, reportedly fell victim to revenge killing in Rehmatpur locality of the city, police said.

In yet another incident, Mumtaz Ali Supro, a peasant, and his uncle Mohammed Ramzan were kidnapped from near Naugoth village in the Naudero area.

Reports said they were on their way home when some armed men kidnapped them at gunpoint and took them to the ‘kutcha’ area of the district. The DPO chased the kidnappers with a contingent of police but remained clueless so far. The recent rise in kidnappings was a result of the arrest of notorious bandit Piyaro Narejo, sources said.
