MARDAN, May 6: Milk-sellers in the city have warned that they will stop supplies to retailers and homes if the district government does not increase milk prices.

Speaking at a press conference at the Mardan press club on Sunday, Mardan Gujjar Association president Bakhtyar Khan said that retailers purchased milk from them at Rs23 per kg and sold it at Rs30 to Rs32 per kg.

He said that the district government had failed to increase prices for milk-sellers who were reeling under high prices of fodder and other things.

He said that milk-sellers would stop supplying milk to retailers and to the people if the price was not increased.

He demanded that the government should raise milk prices to enable the sellers to keep uninterrupted supply to market and residents.
