UC naib nazim dies

MIRPURKHAS, May 5: A union council naib nazim was killed and four people were injured when a mini-truck hit a car on Khipro-Mirpurkhas road near Doso Mori on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hassan Sehto, the naib nazim of New Jatoi union council, Naushahro Feroze district, and those injured as Ali Hassan, Ghulam Qadir, Asghar and Syed Zulfiqar Shah. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas.

The victims were going to attend the public meeting of President General Pervez Musharraf.The Dilbar Maher police impounded the light truck but its driver escaped.

In another accident, at least 25 people were injured when a mini truck overturned on Jhuddo-Naukot road.

Those injured were going to attend the public meeting of the president.

Our Badin correspondent adds: In another incident, the Mukhtarkar of Tando Bago along with a Tapedar and driver was injured when their jeep plunged into a ditch near Tando Bago.

Shankar Lal Rathor (Mukhtarkar) Laung Sial (Tapedar) and Mushtaq (driver) were returning to Tando Bago from Naukot after attending the public meeting of the president.
