Punjab probables trial held

LAHORE, Feb 27: One-day trials to select probables from Punjab for finalising Pakistan team for the Under-17 Asia Football Cup qualifying round were held at the Iqbal Parks Sports Complex Wednesday.

Trials for picking up the Under-20 team for another  Asian qualifying round will also be held at the same venue on Thursday.

About 50 probables were tested in the trials by the English coach John Layton.

The Under-20 qualifying round is scheduled to be held  at Karachi in the last week of April this year.

Trials to select probables from NWFP for Under-17 and  20 will be held at Peshawar on March 6 and 7 and  for Sindh  at Karachi on March 18 and 19.

At the conclusion of the preliminary round of trials at provincial level, the final trials will be held at Islamabad.
