Abducted boy found dead

SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 27: An eight-year-old boy who was kidnapped on Feb 16 was found murdered on Wednesday.

Aftab was kidnapped allegedly by Zulfiqar and Iftikhar on Feb 16. The accused had reportedly a money dispute with the boy’s father, Liaquat. When Liaquat failed to return the money, they butchered Aftab and buried him in the compound of the house.

Zulfiqar and Iftikhar were arrested by the Ferozewala police and during interrogation, they confessed to the crime.

Further investigation is under way.

SHOT DEAD: A trader was shot dead by two dacoits near Aswan Chowk on Ajniawala Road, some 30km away from here, on Wednesday.

Tariq Mahmood was going to Hafizabad by a car from Khanqah Dogran when he was intercepted by two armed men near Aswan Chowk. On resistance, the bandits shot the trader dead and made off with cash, his four-wheelers and valuables.

Sadder police are investigating.

MURDERED: An assistance superintendent of the IG office was murdered allegedly by his rivals over a water dispute in Chak 36, Brohai, near Sangla, some 50km away from here, late on Tuesday night.

Saeed Iqbal had an old rivalry with Akram, Ashraf, Falak Sher, Ali Raza and Mushtaq. On Tuesday, the accused sneaked into the house of Iqbal and shot him dead.

Sangla Saddar police are investigating.

AWARDED RI: An additional district and sessions judge awarded 14-year rigours imprisonment with a fine of Rs50,000 to a convict in a double murder case here on Wednesday.

According to the prosecution, Mushtaq along with his accomplice, Rauf, had murdered his sister and her lover, Aslam, some time back.
