LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), May 2: The Jamrud political authorities on Tuesday busted a gang of kidnappers and freed a boy kidnapped by them.

Talking to reporters at the Khyber House, Jamrud Assistant Political Agent Ghulam Habib said that acting on a tip-off the Khasadar force raided a house in the Malagori sub-tehsil, where some outlaws were hiding. They opened fire at the raiding party, but after a crossfire gang leader Hazrat Hussain, Bakht Shah, Manzoor Hussain, Amjad and Shah Jehan surrendered.

The Khasadar force also seized four Kalashnikov assault rifles and eight pistols.

Mr Habib said that after interrogating the outlaws, the Khasadar force raided another house in Godar and recovered the kidnap victim, Tawab Khan.

One Lal Taj and Zubair Khan were arrested on charges of kidnapping the boy from Hayatabad in Peshawar on April 21.
