NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 1: Shopkeepers observed a two-hour strike in Mehrabpur on Tuesday in protest against a Monday incident in which a Mohammad Ashraf Kamboh was killed and several others were injured.

The shopkeepers, common people and students later staged a rally.

Late Kamboh was killed and several others were injured in an exchange of fire after a reconciliation meeting with Chandios over a land dispute turned violent.

The deputy inspector general police of Sukkur range meanwhile suspended the SHO of Mehrabpur Mujtaba Almani and taluka police officer Fida Hussain Awan for their failure to control the situation after the killing incident on Monday.
