NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 30: Hundreds of enraged protesters blocked the main railway track after death of a man and injuries to several others in a clash over a land dispute in Mehrabpur on Monday.

Reports said that some people belonging to Kamboh community went on a disputed land where a reconciliation meeting was fixed with the Chandios.

During negotiations the meeting became tense and both the parties used arms as a result of which Mohammad Ashraf Kamboh was killed while Haji Nazir, Mohammad Liaquat, Abdul Basit, Mohammad Ayub, Badaruddin, Rashid, Mohammad Ramzan, all by caste Kamboh, and Ikhtiar Chandio, Abdul Majeed and Sudheer Chandio and Zafar Awan received injuries.

All the injured were admitted to Mehrabpur hospital from where Liaquat Kamboh and Haji Kamboh were shifted to Nawabshah Medical College Hospital.

Immediately after the incident, shops were closed and hundreds of people reached Mehrabpur railway station and blocked the main railway track.

The Awam Express Up and Shah Rukn-e-Alam trains were stopped at Padidan and Bhirya road stations respectively. The roads in Mehrabpur were also blocked.

The district police were called in for help after failure of the railway police to control the situation.

The DPO, Irfan Baloch, reached there and assured the protesters of justice. After the assurance, the protesters dispersed.
