KARACHI: Mushaira at KPC

Published April 30, 2007

KARACHI, April 29: The Karachi Press Club’s literary committee organised a Mushaira at its terrace on Saturday night in which many local poets recited their poetry.

Anwer Shaoor presided over the Mushaira while Jazib Qureshi, Ghous Mathravi, Rafiuddin Raz, Nisar Turabi, Saail Azad, Rukhsana Saba, Zakia Ghazal, Sarwar Javed, Rashid Noor, Fazil Jameeli, Khalid Moeen, Ajmal Siraj, Saima Ali, Narjis Afroz, Ambreen Haseeb Amber, Rehana Roohi, Ayreen Farhat, Iqbal Khawar, Sehar Ali and Dr Munazza Shah recited their verses.

The event was scarcely attended mainly due to its scheduling on the day when Cricket World Cup’s final was being played in the West Indies and many members opted to glue to the TV lounge than to take interest in the event.
