SHEIKHUPURA, April 25: A woman slaughtered her husband with the help of her lover here on Wednesday at Damuana in Bhikhi police precincts.

Reports said Safia Bibi of Damuana had married Babar of Sahiwal a few months back. The woman returned to her parents’ house after quarrelling with her husband and allegedly developed illicit relation with one Ghulam Mustafa. Babar came to his in-laws at Damuana to bring his wife back, but Safia and Ghulam Mustafa slaughtered him.

Police are investigating.

GANG-RAPED: A girl was allegedly gang-raped at Jatri village in the jurisdiction of Saddar Farooqabad police station on Wednesday.

Reports said `I’ along with his two accomplices barged into the house of Halima Bibi and gang-raped her daughter `P’ in her presence.

CLERK HELD: The anti-corruption establishment on a tip-off caught red-handed a DOR office clerk while receiving Rs10,000 as bribe from one Yasin.

Accused Tariq Mehmood had demanded bribe from Yasin to provide him relief in a land allotment process. Further investigation is under way.

GANG BUSTED: Sheikhupura Saddar police have busted a gang and arrested its four members, including ringleader, in a special campaign on Wednesday.

The DPO said at a press briefing that ringleader Shahbaz alias Shahbazi, Irfan, Karamat and Irfan alias Fani have been arrested. They were involved in dozens of murder, robbery and other heinous crimes, he added.
