SWABI, April 20: A rickshaw driver committed suicide on Friday after losing a bet in a race with another driver here.
Rickshaw drivers had bet on the race from the Topi bus stand to the Shewa stop, deciding that the winner would get the loser’s three-wheeler.
Taimur Zaman, hailing from the Batakara village, lost the race, but his peers made a settlement that instead of the rickshaw he must pay Rs 5,000 to the winner. Mr Zaman told them that he would bring the money from his home, but instead took some poisonous tablets.—Correspondent
