PESHAWAR, April 19: The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan has invited students wishing to study abroad to apply for Master’s and PhD courses in different US institutes under the Fulbright Scholarships.

Speaking at a seminar here on Wednesday, USEF director Dr Grace Clark said that the US government was spending a handsome amount to invite people for higher education and it was up to students and scholars to come up with preparation and qualify tests for scholarships.

The seminar was organised by the US consulate to brief desiring candidates about admission procedures required to apply for Master’s and PhD programmes under the Fulbright Scholarships.

This year 125 students for Master’s and 98 students in PhDs have been enrolled in different US educational institutes.

“The US universities are looking forward and welcome all those great people, willing to avail of chances of getting higher education there,” Dr Clark said.

“People of both the countries should have educational and intellectual exchange programmes for overall development and uplift of society” she stressed.

Dr Clark said that both Master’s and PhD level courses were being offered to students over there, while special attention was paid to science and technology, agriculture, economics, arts and humanities.

She advised all the desiring applicants that they should appear in TOEFL and GRE tests required for getting admission to US schools and universities.

The students should have the ability to speak and understand English language as it was highly co-related to higher studies and interaction with other people abroad.

“We are looking forward for those who are interested in higher studies and are curious about the world,” she observed.

Dr Clark explained that there was no age limit for getting admission to the US institutes and said all this depended upon the candidates’ interests in particular discipline.
