KARACHI, April 19: Nine ships carrying soyabean oil, DAP fertiliser and to load clinker and ethanol are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Yick Wing to load rice, Hyundai Future, Y.M. Sun and Oel Esteem to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included APL Yokohama, Y.M. Faha and Diamond Progress, while Banglar Mookh, Chem Baltic, Y.M. Sun and Sinar Agra are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 43,057 tons comprising 20,469 tons of export cargo including 3,679 tons of cement and 1,022 tons of wheat and 22,588 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Prita Dewi with chemicals, Lalazar with crude oil, Andino Park to load ethanol, Global Union to offload 2,000 tons of soyabean oil, Oel Victory with containers, Nazli-G with 31,954 tons of DAP fertiliser, Huyutec to load 25,000 tons of clinkers, Chi Feng Kou and Cosmic Challenger with general cargo.
