KARACHI, April 18: Five ships carrying chemicals, containers and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where half a dozen ships, APL Yokohama, Y.M. Faha, Mol Silver Fern and Viking Merlin with containers, Westwhard Venture to load project cargo and Chem Baltic to load naphtha were berthed.

Six ships, Gulf Bridge, Mol Silver Fern, Viking Merkub, Johar, Pontonikis and Westward Venture departed on Wednesday, while APL Yokohama, Chem Baltic, Banglar Mookh and Hyundai Future are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 53,795 tons comprising 24,442 tons of export cargo including 5,021 tons of cement and 1,218 tons of wheat and 29,353 tons of import tonnage was handled on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Yick Wing to load 9,500 tons of rice, Sinar Agra with chemicals, Comorin Pride, Oel Victory and APL Orchid with containers.
