KARACHI, April 14: The Mutahida Majlis-i-Amal on Saturday said that Karachiites were true Muslims and followed the Shariah and the dictates of Allah Almighty and they would not participate in the rally being organised, against the implementation of Shariah, in the city on Sunday.

In a statement issued here, the MMA leaders said the Mutahida Quami Movement by organising a rally against the implementation of Shariah to please the United States but at the same time it was inviting the wrath of God.

They said that Pakistan was founded in the name of Islam and the problems being faced by Pakistanis could only be solved by following the teachings of Islam.

They asked why the MQM did not hold a rally when Akbar Bugti was killed; the chief justice was suspended; Afghanistan and Iraq were bombed; lawyers and media were attacked; hudood laws were amended; but on the implementation of shariah, Altaf Hussain, it was organising a rally against the implementation of shariah.
